That’s why I like Zac Brown Band. They actually put effort into their songs.
One more trend I’ve been noticing is people faking the southern drawl in country songs.

Exactly, hahaha. When I heard about Steven Tyler trying to get into country, the first thing I thought is how that’s gonna work.
Also, Brett Young . The man is from Southern California for crying out loud.
I’ve lived in Louisiana, Mississippi and Virginia my entire life and I only have a slight accent.....

A major thing I noticed in the final seasons of American Idol was that Harry Connick was very quick to call out contestants who were faking an accent, whereas Keith Urban was rather quiet on the issue...
Zac Brown, Eric Church and Chris Stapleton give me hope for the future of country. Sadly, that hope is crushed every time I try to find a “country” radio station. It’s MP3s and talk radio for this guy.

Unfortunately it’s affecting ZBB too. There’s a couple songs in their new album that are pretty much pure pop. Fortunately they still do country, tropical, and rock. There isn’t a genre they can’t handle.

This is two days old but I don’t care. I love 80s Mercedes, and Maren Morris in general, the rest of her album is awesome and definitely what I would consider good country.
A lot of modern “country” does suck though, a few good artists I still really like are Eric Church, Miranda Lambert, and Dierks Bentley (but of course radio stations only really play his “pop” songs like Somewhere on a Beach, Drunk on a Plane etc.)

I haven’t heard anything else from her, I may look into it now. Pop Country is just too much for me. What really ticks me of is that when I complain about it I sound like a damn Hipster.
